What is Legacy Planning

Legacy planning is a way for individuals to support the causes they care about, like Bra Couture KC, through their estate. It allows someone to leave a meaningful gift after their lifetime, helping continue the mission of providing care and support to uninsured and underinsured cancer patients for years to come.

How it Works

There are a few simple ways someone can include Bra Couture KC in their legacy plans:

  • Include Bra Couture KC in a Will or Trust

    • A donor can name Bra Couture KC as a beneficiary in their will or living trust. They can choose to leave:

      • A specific dollar amount

      • A percentage of their estate

      • Or the remainder of their estate after other gifts are distributed

  • Designate Bra Couture KC as a Beneficiary

    • People can name Bra Couture KC as a beneficiary of:

      • Retirement accounts (IRA, 401(k), etc.)

      • Life insurance policies

      • Investment accounts

(This is often as simple as filling out a beneficiary form.)

  • Donate Estate Sale Proceeds

    • If someone plans to sell their home, belongings, or other assets after their passing, they can specify in their will or trust that some or all of those sale proceeds go directly to Bra Couture KC.

Why it Matters

A legacy gift is more than a donation, it’s a lasting commitment to expanding access to care. These gifts help Bra Couture KC open more centers, reach more patients, and ensure that no one has to face cancer without support due to financial barriers.
